2026 Jack Frost’s Love Story Writing Challenge

Jack Frost — a man with the gift of the force of winter, ice, and snow — experiences love. This love may be romantic, tragic, forbidden, fleeting, or transformative. The story should meaningfully explore how love affects Jack Frost’s nature, choices, or destiny. Name of MMC is open, but must represent the nature and unique powers of Jack Frost. Open to any genre, but stories must be clean works – no explicit content. Word count minimum is 50,000.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

2026 Jack Frost Love Story Challenge

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the 2026 Jack Frost Love Story Writing Challenge (“Challenge”). By registering for or participating in the Challenge, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Organizer

The Challenge is organized by the Challenge Host (“Viva la Voice Acting LLC”). The Organizer reserves the right to interpret, amend, or enforce these Terms at its sole discretion.

2. Eligibility

• The Challenge is open to individuals aged 18 years or older at the time of entry, unless otherwise stated.
• Participants must register using accurate and complete information.
• Affiliates of the Organizer may be excluded at the Organizer’s discretion.

3. Challenge Overview

• The Challenge is free to enter and no purchase or payment is required.
• Participants will be provided with a single writing prompt (the “Prompt”) stated here: Jack Frost — a man with the gift of the force of winter, ice, and snow — experiences love. This love may be romantic, tragic, forbidden, fleeting, or transformative. The story should meaningfully explore how love affects Jack Frost’s nature, choices, or destiny. Name of MMC is open, but must represent the nature and unique powers of Jack Frost.
• Using the Prompt, participants must write an original novel of 50,000 words or more (the “Manuscript”).
• The Challenge runs for a defined period as announced by the Organizer (the “Challenge Period”) with the end date being [December 31, 2026].

4. Entry Requirements

• All work must be original, written by the participant, and created during the Challenge Period.
• AI-generated content is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of artificial intelligence tools for drafting, rewriting, expanding, or editing prose.
• The Manuscript must be written entirely in English.
• The Manuscript must be written primarily in prose form.
• Collaborative works are permitted on a case by case basis, see Organizer for details and requests.
• Any violation of these requirements may result in immediate disqualification.

5. Word Count and Submission

• The Manuscript must contain a minimum of 50,000 words, excluding title pages, tables of contents, or appendices.
• Submissions must be made by the deadline and in the format specified by the Organizer. 12 point Times New Roman font, double spaced.
• Failure to meet the word count or submission requirements may result in disqualification.

6. Content Guidelines

Submitted works must not:

• Infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights;
• Contain unlawful, defamatory, or hateful content;
• Contain explicit content including but not limited to, open door spicy scenes, excessive gore descriptions, etc.
• Include content that violates applicable laws or regulations.

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any submission that violates these guidelines.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

• Participants retain full ownership and copyright of their Manuscripts.
• Participation in the Challenge does not transfer any ownership rights to the Organizer.
• By submitting a Manuscript, participants grant the Organizer a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reference the work only for Challenge-related purposes, such as verifying completion, announcing winners, or promoting the Challenge.
• The Organizer will not publish, reproduce, or distribute full Manuscripts or substantial excerpts and will not use any AI to review Manuscripts.

8. Judging and Completion (If Applicable)

• Entries will be evaluated based on the previously stated criteria, announced by the Organizer.
• The Organizer’s decisions are final and binding.

9. Rewards

• 1st place winner will receive a voucher (valid until December 31, 2027) for up to 5 finished hours of audiobook recording and production through Viva la Voice Acting LLC. (This reward would cover about 50,000 words transitioned into audiobook format.) Recording and production outside of the 5 finished hours may incur an additional cost.
• 2nd place winner will receive a voucher (valid until December 31, 2027) for 50% off their entire audiobook recording & production costs through Viva la Voice Acting.
• 3rd place winner will receive a voucher (valid until December 31, 2027) for 25% off their entire audiobook recording & production costs through Viva la Voice Acting.
• Achievement and milestone awards will be available as determined by the Organizer throughout the competition.

10. Disqualification

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

• Violates these Terms;
• Engages in cheating, plagiarism, misrepresentation or the use of AI as previously stated in section 4;
• Attempts to undermine the integrity of the Challenge.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organizer shall not be liable for:

• Technical issues, lost submissions, or delayed entries;
• Any damages arising from participation in the Challenge;
• Claims related to the use or misuse of submitted works.

12. Privacy

Participant information will be collected and used solely for administering the Challenge and in accordance with the Organizer’s privacy policy.

13. Modifications and Cancellation

• The Organizer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Challenge at any time for any reason, such as medical or natural disaster outside of the Organizer’s control.
• Any changes will be communicated to participants in a reasonable manner.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction specified by the Organizer in the state of Colorado.

15. Acceptance of Terms

Participation in the Challenge constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and any decisions made by the Organizer.
