OFFICIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Eligibility
1.1. The Giveaway is open to individuals age 12 or older. (For those under 18, if selected as the winner, you will need parental/guardian approval as determined by your state).
1.2. Void where prohibited by law. Open to international authors where allowed by law.
1.3. The story project submitted by the winner must be written in English.
1.4. The project must be a clean story, meaning it can not contain explicit sexual content, graphic gore, or horror content.
1.5. All genres are accepted as long as they comply with the content restrictions stated above (e.g., clean fantasy, clean sci-fi, clean romance, clean thriller, nonfiction, etc.).
1.6. The winner must provide a full, final manuscript at no cost to the narrator. Accepted formats include Kindle, PDF, Word, or a physical copy.
1.7. The organizer reserves the right to review the manuscript and determine whether it meets content standards prior to production. (Should the manuscript breach any content preferences stated above, the author will have the opportunity to submit a different project. If the second submission is also unsuitable, the winner will forfeit their prize to the runner up.)
1.8. The organizer reserves the right to verify eligibility.
2. Prize Description
2.1. One (1) winner will receive up to 7 hours of audiobook narration, performed by the Darby Rand and produced by Viva la Voice Acting LLC Narration Services
2.2. Approximate retail value of the prize is $1,500 USD.
2.3. The winner is responsible for a mandatory software fee of $200 USD, payable before production begins. Software fee is nonrefundable after 50% of the audiobook is approved.
3. Winner Selection
3.1. Any author interested in applying for the giveaway must send a paragraph about their book (most commonly the back cover copy) to darbyrand97@gmail.com by December 15, 2025. On December 15 applications close and story paragraphs will be posted here for voting. To cast a vote, individuals will need to fill out the form and comment the title they wish to vote for. The winner will be chosen by most popular vote.
3.2. The winner will be notified via email on Christmas Day.
3.3. If the winner does not respond within [30] days, a new winner will be selected.
4. Audiobook Production Timeline
4.1. The audiobook narration will be completed no later than December 31, 2026. Production will be done throughout the year between paid projects.
4.2. Production start date will be coordinated directly with the winner.
5. Project Requirements
5.1. The winner must provide:
- Final, proofread manuscript (ready for narration).
- Pronunciation notes or character guidance, if applicable.
- $200 software fee prior to the start of production.
5.2. Revisions:
- Unlimited edits (Within Reason) until author has approved a chapter. (Once chapter is approved additional cost by be incurred for last minute extra edits).
- Script changes after recording can incur additional fees.
6. Rights & Usage
6.1. The winner retains all rights to their manuscript.
6.2. The narrator retains rights to their voice and performance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.3. The winner is granted usage rights for distribution on audiobook platforms (e.g., Audible, Libro.fm, hoopla, etc.).
6.4. Viva la Voice Acting LLC may request permission to use short audio excerpts for portfolio or promotional purposes; the winner can approve or decline.
7. Fees & Payment
7.1. The Giveaway prize covers the cost of narration and production.
7.2. The winner must pay a $200 software fee prior to project start.
7.3. Any optional add-ons (e.g., extra revisions, editing beyond normal limits) can require additional fees.
8. Limitations & Conditions
8.1. The prize is non-transferable and can not be redeemed for cash.
8.2. Viva la Voice Acting reserves the right to decline production of content that is illegal, hateful, explicit, or violates platform policies.
8.3. Viva la Voice Acting is not liable for delays due to circumstances outside reasonable control (e.g., illness, industry issues, force major life/world events).
9. Disqualification
Viva la Voice Acting can disqualify any participant who:
- Provides false information
- Violates these Terms
- Attempts to manipulate or interfere with the Giveaway
10. Agreement
By entering the Giveaway, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
